The list goes on... We are proud to be able to support these outstanding organizations. Leigh (expecting in February) & J.P. Canlis pictured here at the PONCHO Art Auction in October. Fall 2008
Fall 2008 was the busiest philanthropy season yet; starting with the Museum of Glass' auction where the Canlis Glass Gallery donation went for above bid price. Leigh and J.P. also chaired the successful Ronald McDonald Auction. The season proved to be important for these incredible organizations.
Canlis Glass encourages you all to continue to give during this important time.
Fall 2007
Many
local organizations have received
Canlis Glass donation items
for their upcoming auctions
in early 2008 including Holy
Rosary School, Friends of
FSH Research and the University
of Washington MBA Charity
Challenge (benefiting Special
Olympics of Washington and
the Boys & Girls Clubs
of King County).
Noteworthy
donations have been made this
fall to Pilchuck Glass School,
The Boys & Girls Club
of King County, and the PONCHO
International Wine Auction.
Canlis
Glass recently made donations
to Big Brothers/Big Sisters
and the Museum of Glass events
taking place this fall.
Both auctions will feature
a private party at Canlis
Glass gallery and studio.

purchase tickets for the events,

Summer
2007
On
August 2nd, the Pacific Northwest
Research Institute hosted
their fourth annual Evening
of Wine event to benefit diabetes
research. Partnering
with DeLille Cellars, Canlis
Glass donated a private wine
tasting party at Canlis Glass
gallery and studio that went
for well over the asking price.
Canlis
Glass helped to raise funds
for the Pratt Fine Arts Center
with the donation of a glass
blowing party and custom Swell
piece for the live auction.
The item sold for well above
the asking price and brought
in more than $6,000 for the
school.
Poncho
recently invited Leigh Canlis
to its Board of Trustees.
Leigh is excited and
honored to be a part of this
group of individuals who play
such an important part in
shaping and influencing the
Seattle arts community.
Leigh will also be serving
on the Pigs On Parade Auction
Committee this year.
The event in October will
benefit the Pike Place Market
Foundation. For more
information please visit www.pigsonparade.org.
For
the 2007 Poncho Invitational
Fine Art Auction, Canlis Glass
donated a Breathe
set, coupled with the use
of the Canlis Glass gallery
for an event. The hand blown
piece was an excellent addition
to the exciting live auction
at this successful event.
The organization's Gala Auction
in April featured an auction
item donated by Canlis Glass
and On The Boards Theater.
This exciting item included
a private event at the Canlis
Glass Gallery & Studio
to be attended by the director
of On The Boards and was a
great addition to the live
auction.
Winter
2006
J.P.
Canlis is named the O' Christmas
Trees 2007 Presenting Artist.
After the success of Dale
Chihuly as this year's presenting
artist, J.P. created a custom
glass Christmas tree auctioned
at the gala in November 2007.
The money raised from the
tree benefited Providence
Senior & Community Services.
For more information about
Providence please visit www.providence.org.
In
December, Canlis Glass made
a donation in the name of
J.P. Canlis to Punahou School
to benefit the school's hot
shop program. With the success
seen in 2006, Canlis Glass
was able to show the high
school the deserved gratitude
for introducing J.P. to glass
in 1991.
Enatai
Elementary is the recipient
of a donation from Canlis
Glass which includes a guided
tour through the gallery and
studio. Focusing on an educational
approach, the donation will
be an inside look into the
glass art scene of Seattle.
Fall
2006
Canlis
Glass was a success at the
Pilchuck Auction in October.
A brand new Undertow was displayed
and auctioned. Leigh &
J.P. attended the event and
were available to answer questions
about the work. Proceeds go
to Pilchuck Glass School -
an inspiration for all!
Additionally,
the Seattle Men's and Woman's
Chorus featured a Canlis Glass
work in their live auction
in September.
Spring
2006
Canlis
Glass made noteworthy donations
to The Poncho Invitational
Fine Art Auction, The Poncho
Gala Auction, and the
Swedish Medical Center's Celebrate
Swedish Auction, in the months
of March and April.
For these events, Leigh and
J.P. Canlis offered glass
artworks and/or a private
glass blowing party with J.P.
and Leigh for bidding.
The glass blowing party package,
presented at Poncho's Fine
Art Auction, included a live
glass blowing demonstration
including glass party favors
for all guests and a catered
lunch by the Boat Street Cafe
-- on March 4th, 2006 the
package went for above asking
price. Auctioning from
$2,000 to $5,000, each of
these donations is, or will
be, a huge fundraising success
and a fabulous addition to
a great cause.
Spearheading
this donation campaign, Leigh
Canlis hopes to continue to
develop Canlis Glass' relationship
with each of these wonderful
organizations.
